In the last few days before mid-term elections, there is a lot of ... stuff ...flying around. The desperate Democrats, in particular, are throwing anything and everything against the wall, hoping something will stick.
Some random observations:*
Could anyone who is voting for John Fetterman please tell me what they think a US senator does?
In the last day or so, I noticed both Joy Reid and Rob Reiner call Republicans "fascists." How do they then accuse the right of inciting hate?
Does no one realize that trying to ensure elections are fair is kinda the opposite of "trying to overthrow Democracy?"
Can someone explain to me why the report of DHS using social media companies to censor free speech does not make everyone (regardless of party affiliation) livid?
From the Golden Oldies Department: Wednesday Joe Biden trotted out the ancient "Republicans will take away your Social Security" canard. It was actually a little nostalgic.
Barry Obama just went to Phoenix and said, "Democracy as we know it may not survive in Arizona. That's not an exaggeration, that is a fact." All these years, we didn't realize the ex-President was dyslexic.
We are all heart-broken and nauseated by the NY felon who beat up his wife, was quickly released, and then murdered her in front of her children.
It is good to see San Francisco finally keeping a violent criminal in jail.
Remember the newly elected Joe Biden said, "I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify - who doesn’t see red and blue states, but a United States. And who will work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people."? Clearly, Wednesday night was a new speech writer ... or new ventriloquist.
Someone should let Kamala know that no one is still pretending the "Inflation Reduction Act" has anything to do with reducing inflation.
As I write this, when I open Internet Explorer, I'm informed "Republicans have entered a 'post-truth world'". Does that mean they've finally signed onto the Leftist manifesto that includes "Men can give birth"?
It's hard to know what to think of the polls, particularly given the amount of early voting.
Especially given voter turnout, when is MLB going to apologize to the State of Georgia for its cynical (and that's the nicest thing you can say about it) decision to pull the All-Start Game from Atlanta?
Given she is from the same party that let John Fetterman debate, it makes you wonder how bad Katie Hobbs must be.
This "historian" called Michael Beschloss is running around claiming that, if Republicans win the mid-terms, we will quickly degenerate into a totalitarian dystopia. He reminds me of an illiterate pretending to read, but holding the book upside down.
I’m absolutely certain Gavin Newsom is not the Antichrist ... well, at least I’m pretty sure.
It is hilarious that Mark Kelly is pretending to be a maverick who stands up to Joe Biden. Similar to how Joe stands up to MBS.
KJP always struggles in her job, but it was even more cringy than usual watching her have to defend the "election deniers are the worst thing ever " mantra when she is a well-known election denier.
That sobbing Starbucks barista better suck it up and get back to work. Thanks in large part to Biden and the Democrats, her/his generation has a huge and burgeoning federal debt to pay off.
Biden just whined that there are "16 million Americans, so far, who should be seeing student debt relief in the coming days, but that relief is on hold - because Republican elected officials are doing everything they can to deny it." Well, yeah, because it is (a) unfair, (b) bad economic policy, (c) a blatant attempt to buy votes and (d) unconstitutional.
* Today's blog is dedicated to Dr. Thomas Sowell, a brilliant American treasure. I always looked forward to reading Dr. Sowell's occasional column wherein he would share "random thoughts on the passing scene." Invariably, there were several thoughts that deserved to be on a wall plaque - or even a t-shirt.
